Discus Throw winner Darya not passed at drug test

Discus Throw winner and Olympic silver medallist Darya Pishchalnikova is being investigated by the IAAF after failing a drugs test. The Russian anti-doping agency has finds she tested positive for an anabolic steroid. Pishchalnikova reject any bad behavior. But she could face a life ban from the sport if found guilty because it would be her next offence. She served a doping disallow of 2 years and 9 months from July 2008 to April 2011 after test positive for Methylhexanamine.

Pishchalnikova was among seven leading female Russian athletes found guilty of influence drug samples before the 2008 Beijing Olympics. As well as claiming silver at this year’s Olympics in London and the world title in Daegu, South Korea in 2011, Pishchalnikova also won silver at the 2009 World Championship in Osaka, Japan, but was stripped of the medal after the IAAF annulled all her results from May 2007.
