Track King Usain Bolt to end his career after London

Track King Usain Bolt to end his career after London

Usain Bolt is considering his options after retiring from sprinting, which could come as early as the London 2012 Olympics.

On Friday, the world and Olympic 100- and 200-meters champion said he’d assess his career options after London, and could switch to the long jump.

This month, the 24-year-old Jamaican told British media he’d like to pursue a professional football career and gave himself another four years in track and field.

Definitely I will go one more Olympics … and from there I will decide what I want to do,” Bolt was quoted as saying on Friday by the Australian Associated Press.

Kettlebells: Tips to workout with them

It can be very beneficial to workout with kettlebells. They are different from traditional weight-lifting. They look similar like balls along with a handle attached. You may feel that they are looking odd but if you use them correctly then they can deliver a great workout.

Let us have a look on the following points to find out how to obtain a great workout with kettlebells:

The first thing you should do is to find a weight that you are comfy with.  Generally, men will make use of heavy weights merely for muscle building, whereas women will use less weight simply for toning and slim muscle building. There are some exercises which might require little increment or reduction in weights.

You just need to hold the handle of the kettlebells and then start exercising. Most of the weight lifters put on gloves so that kettlebell will not slip from their hands while they become sweaty. In order to avoid injury it is a good to have a workout partner when you are lifting heavy weights.

Chris in the England squad for Commonwealth Games in Delhi

EUROPEAN silver medallist Chris Thompson and the best distance runner has been named in the England athletics squad for October’s 2010  Commonwealth Games in Dehli.

The 29-year-old Barrow-born distance runner will compete in both the 5,000m and 10,000m in India after thrusting himself back onto the international scene.

Thompson, a lifelong Barrow AFC fan, finished second behind compatriot Mo Farah in the 10,000m at the European Championships in Barcelona last month.

His medal came after years of injury problems had left him unable to fulfil his potential following victory in the European under-23s 5,000m in 2003.

Thompson and Farah have both been named for the same two events they ran in Spain, with Andrew Vernon the third member of the England team in the 10,000m. The 100-strong England athletics team for the games will also include two other European champions – 110m hurdler Andy Turner and Phillips Idowu, who will be defending his triple jump crown.

Olympic 400m champion Christine Ohuruogu, who missed the European Championships earlier this summer with a quad injury, was also included in the team for the games, which take place between October 3 and 14.
