DePaul’s road swing then comes to halt on April 6 and 7 when the Blue Demons compete in the Chicagoland Championships hosted by the University of Chicago. The DePaul women are set to battle that Friday, April 6, while then compete on Saturday, April 7. On April 14, DePaul heads back on the road to Columbia, Mo., for the Tom Botts Invitational before frequent to Chicago to host the DePaul Invitational, held at Lane Stadium on April 21.

The remainder of the schedule includes the Stan Lyons Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind., on April 28 and the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, from April 26-28.Those two meets lead up to the BIG EAST Conference Outdoor Championships in Tampa, Fla., from May 4-6. On May 12, the Blue Demons battle at the Cardinal Twilight Invitational in Louisville, Ky., for the last chance meet before the NCAA postseason begins.The Blue Demons carry on their indoor season this weekend as they travel to Bloomington, Ind., for the Indiana Relays.

Clitheroe said: “This year is a significant one for me I had some real highs in 2011, which were absolutely fantastic. “My race in Paris caused a bit of a stir back home and I couldn’t believe the attention I received. But it was all welcomed and it’s really incredible to know that you’ve got a lot of support, that people know you when you step out on the track and give you that extra cheer you need. “I went away to Kenya in November and will be heading back out there straight after Christmas. It’s really good to get away and get my head into some training.

I think of the Aviva Grand Prix as a rehearsal for the indoor championships, the very best athletes in the world battle in Birmingham and it’s amazing to have the chance to race in meets like that in the run-up to major championships. “Glasgow is just a brilliant event, the crowd is always really into athletics and this is the last time that we’ll be challenging at Kelvin Hall so that will be really special too. 

The venue has such a sturdy heritage and it really is a freedom to race there.” Clitheroe, who made her Olympic debut in Sydney back in 2000, will use the coming Aviva Series as a critical step in preparing for her third Olympic battle.
