The triumphant national junior athletics team is expected to arrive home Tuesday evening from Moncton Canada where Kenya retained the world title, bagging a total of 15 medals,(7 Gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze).
Top government and Athletics Kenya officials are expected to welcome home the heroes who are expected to arrive at the Jomo Kenyatta International air Port at 6pm aboard Swiss air.
Mercy Cheronoh was the first to win Gold for Kenya in 3000 metres race while the rest of the Gold medals came from Dennis Masai, Caleb Ndiku, Jonathan Muia, Purity Cherotich, David Bett and David Mutua.
Meanwhile, preparations for the 17th edition of the African Athletics championships are complete with the African premier event starting Wednesday at the Nyayo National Stadium.
A record 812 athletes have confirmed participation in the five day event. Kenya will be hoping to reclaim the title they lost to Ethiopia in Addis Ababa in 2008.
