Amy Acuff was on July 14, 1975, in Port Arthur, Texas and she is well known for her high jump. Acuff’s high jumping journey was ongoing at an extremely young age in South Texas.
In her age five in the summer of 1980, Amy could be found at the track stadium competing in A.A.U. sprint races. Running races like 50 meter, 100 meter, and 200 meter were specially organized for kids fewer than five was her first introduction to sport.
Amy’s Achievements:
- Amy had won the USA Outdoor champion for 6 times in the years (’95, ’97, ’01, ’03, ’05, and ‘07).
- Four times she had won Olympian in the years (’96, ’00, ’04, and ‘08) also came 4th at 2004 Olympic Games.
- In U.S. Indoor champ she had won for five times (’01, ’04, ’07, ’08, and ‘09).
- NCAA Indoor champion (’94, ’95, ’97) for 3 times and two-times for NCAA Outdoor champion (’95, ’96).
- Also she was awarded as World University Games champion in the year 1997.
